Dear UVA Parents and Families:
The fall semester is coming to a close with exams ending tomorrow. I know quite a few students are already home. I hope the upcoming Winter Break will be a welcome time for your student to relax and enjoy their favorite activities as well as enjoy time with friends and family.
In a recent message to students, I reminded them of resources that remain available to them now and during the break. We recognize this semester has not ended in a typical way. Throughout the spring semester, we will continue to offer resources to help our community move forward from the tragic deaths of Devin Chandler, Lavel Davis Jr. and D’Sean Perry on November 13. Please be sure your student is aware of various resources, as summarized on our Support for Students webpage.
Although it seems like a long time ago, Family Weekend was truly delightful. We thoroughly enjoyed having so many of you visit. From the Third-Year Ceremony to the concerts, receptions, and open houses, I hope whatever events you attended were fun and informative. Please take a look at the videos linked below, featuring several parents at the Third-Year Ceremony and highlighting some of the fun times with family, friends, and our staff.
The University’s academic division will be closed from Dec. 22 through New Year’s Day. As usual, our Student Affairs on-call team will remain available 24/7 for any critical needs.
The links below will take you to more information about topics often important to parents. Please be in touch if you have questions and let us know if we can be of assistance to you or your students
Best wishes for a safe, happy holiday season with your student and other loved ones.
Regards,
Robyn S. Hadley
