Dear Student,

The Division of Student Affairs is excited to welcome you to the University of Virginia! We are thrilled you have decided to make UVA your home for the next few years. We look forward to answering your questions over the summer and fall as you begin your journey on Grounds.

Beginning college is a big step. We know you are probably feeling a range of emotions right now – excitement, wonder, maybe even a little disbelief! Our team is here to support you as you take this first step and the many that will follow.

As Vice President and Dean of Students, we are honored to lead a talented team in the Division of Student Affairs who are committed to supporting you, your well-being, and your success. Students are at the center of what we do every day.

Whether it’s making sure you have exciting opportunities to get engaged outside the classroom, providing resources around physical and mental health, or helping you discover and plan your career trajectory, we care about your total experience and want you to thrive at UVA.

Summer Orientation will get you started in learning more about your University and how you can thrive as a member of this community. It will also be a great opportunity to meet the Student Affairs team and connect with your fellow Hoos! We're excited to meet you and encourage you to reach out to your Orientation Leader with questions after you meet them this summer.
