Max Bresticker, Chair, University Board of Elections

Hello everyone,

I hope you have been enjoying your semester thus far. My name is Max Bresticker, and I am the Chair of the University Board of Elections (UBE).

Every year, UVA students have the valuable opportunity to decide what the next generation of student self-governance will look like. Beyond just casting a vote, student elections help decide the course the University community will take as it navigates the lingering effects of this pandemic. March 2nd at 10:00 am EST to March 4th at 4:00 pm EST is the voting period for the Spring 2022 University-wide elections. During these three days, you will have the chance to select your representatives for Class and School Councils, Honor, UJC, and Student Council.

In order to vote, you can either:

  1. Click on the personalized link that you will receive via email on March 2nd, or
  2. Visit our website and click the “Vote” button in the navigation bar.

As an expression of UBE’s appreciation for all those who take the time to vote, everyone who completes the entire ballot will have a chance to win nearly $1,000 in gift cards toward Bodo’s, the UVA Bookstore, GrubHub, or Starbucks!

The complete rules and important disclaimers can be found here.

Finally, we invite you to attend several upcoming events:

  • Sunday, February 27th, at 8:00 PM: UBE and the Indian Student Association will be hosting a virtual town-hall-style event with the Student Council Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates. Questions can be submitted here and viewers may access the event by Zoom using this link.
  • Monday, February 28th, at 7:00 PM: The Cavalier Daily will be hosting its annual Student Council debate between all Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates. The form to submit audience questions can be found here and the event will be live-streamed on the Cavalier Daily’s Facebook page.
  • Tuesday, March 1st, at 7:00 PM: The Cavalier Daily will be holding a town hall to discuss the current Honor referendum and its proposed reforms. Comments may be submitted using this form and the event is accessible via this Zoom link.

I wish you all the best, and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact [email protected].

Have a great weekend,

Max Bresticker,
Chair, University Board of Elections
