Welcome Events
New Student Welcome and Cultural Community Receptions
- At the start of each academic year, Multicultural Student Services hosts a large New Student Welcome event, featuring smaller break out receptions where students can visit affiliated student centers. This event introduces students to University resources, faculty, administrators, student organizations, and initiatives designed to help support their transition to UVA.
Wahoo Welcome
- As part of the University's "relentless welcome" for new students, Multicultural Student Services hosts weekly events through Fall Break for new students to connect with our team and the broader multicultural community. These events include new student welcome dinners, staff meet-and-greets in each of the centers, peer mentor activities, cultural community gatherings, and fun social and informational events every Friday.
