Reporting Hazing

See or suspect hazing? Report it! Hazing is a crime in the Commonwealth of Virginia and is prohibited in accordance with STU-005: Prohibition on Hazing and the University’s Standards of Conduct. The University does not condone hazing in any form.

The University provides multiple avenues for students, parents, faculty, staff, and community members to report hazing. If you see or hear something that concerns you, please report that concern or incident to support the health, safety, and well-being of students. The University is best positioned to respond to hazing concerns when we receive accurate, timely, and factual information. Please do not assume others have reported the concern – we would rather receive multiple reports than none at all.

The following are ways to report a hazing concern:

  1. If there is immediate concern for safety, please call 911 before taking any next steps.
  2. Submit a report through Just Report It. Please provide as much detail as possible.
  3. Contact the Dean on Call.
  4. Call the Hazing Hotline at 434-243-HAZE (4293).
