Additional Student Funding Sources

Looking for funding? Review this list of University-affiliated funding sources and you just might come across one that's new to you! Each grantor establishes its own criteria and limitations for financial support, so be sure to review the linked guidelines.

Student Council

  • Appropriates funds from Student Activities Fees.
  • Only active CIOs and Special Status Organizations may apply.

College Council

  • Appropriates funds from the College of Arts & Sciences School Fee.
  • Offers separate grants for CIOs, faculty-student interactions, and student research.

Public Service Programming Board

  • Individual students or student organizations may apply.
  • Funding is granted in the form of a reimbursement.

University Programs Council

  • CIOs can apply to co-sponsor an event with UPC.
  • Only events that are open to all students (without alcohol present) are eligible.

Office of the VP & Chief Officer for Diversity & Equity

  • Inclusive Excellence Grants fund efforts that promote equity and inclusion at UVA.

Office of the Vice Provost for the Arts

  • Various grants are awarded for student, faculty, and staff projects related to the arts.

The Committee on Sustainability: Community Engagement Subcommittee

  • Various grants are awarded for programs, projects, or events at the intersection of equity and sustainability - or significantly related to either.

Office of the Dean of Students

  • A list of funding sources for scholarships, fellowships, internships/research, study abroad aid, and graduate/professional school applications.

UVA Parents Fund

  • Any UVA student, organization, or individual that supports undergraduate students may apply.

UVA IDEA Fund Mini-Grants

  • Small grants of $250-500 are awarded for innovative projects that promote a diverse and inclusive culture at UVA.

Student Engagement Fund

  • Any undergraduate or graduate member of a University-affiliated organization may apply, as long as the project/event is targeted to students.

Jefferson Trust

  • Significant grants ($2,500-$150,000) are awarded to administration, faculty, and student-led projects. This includes organizations, centers, and institutes.
