Pint-sized heroes, ghosts, and the like will descend on the University of Virginia for the annual “Trick-or-Treating on the Lawn” celebration!
This longtime tradition established by students in the late 1980s is open to children and families from the local community. Co-sponsored by residents of the Lawn and Range communities, the residents and members of student organizations will be stationed in each of the 54 Lawn rooms as well as the Range to give out treats. All candy is donated and distributed by approximately 70 student groups and other organizations. Residents look forward to hundreds of children and families participating in the festivities and encourage University students to attend, too!
Registered CIOs at UVA can table at the event and will be able to sign up from October 7-18. Student Council will email signup information to CIOs on October 7.
Free parking for families attending the event will be available from 3:30 p.m. at the John Paul Jones Arena garage, South Lot, and West Lot. Starting at 4 p.m., guests may also park for free in the Culbreth Road Garage. Paid hourly parking may also be available in the Central Grounds Parking Garage on Emmet Street.
