Portrait Unveiling: Honoring Ms. Kathy
May 19, 3 p.m., Newcomb third floor.

As part of the University’s Change Agent Portrait Series, a portrait will be unveiled honoring Kathy McGruder, affectionately known as “Ms. Kathy” to generations of students passing through Newcomb dining hall. President Jim Ryan and Vice President Robyn Hadley will make brief remarks. All are welcome to attend.

Get Paid to Help Improve UVA Systems
Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking usability testers for UVA systems. Sessions are conducted remotely via Zoom, last 30 minutes, and are scheduled throughout the year. Participants will receive $20 for each test. If you’re interested, sign up to receive notifications about upcoming tests.

Free Breakfast for Graduates with Ms. Kathy
May 21 and 22, 6 – 8:30 a.m., 1515.

Before lining up for the Lawn procession during Finals Weekend, be sure to drop by 1515 for a hug and final send-off from Ms. Kathy of Newcomb Hall. Breakfast burritos (both meat and vegetarian) will be available for students in cap and gown. Coffee and infused water will also be available. Special thanks to the Parents Committee Fund for their generosity in funding this event. Hosted by Student Affairs and the Class of 2022.

Hoos ReUse: Donate Gently Used Items
Hoos ReUse is a way to benefit others by donating clothing, furniture, electronics, nonperishable foods, and other useful items during move-out. Off Grounds, you are encouraged to donate directly to local community organizations. Also, check out the student-led Refurnished Charlottesville as a donation point and for free pickup and delivery.

Support Events in Student Affairs Spaces as an Audiovisual or Operations Assistant
Are you looking for a part-time job? Student Affairs is looking for audiovisual and operations assistants to support events in Newcomb, Ern Commons, and other spaces. Job responsibilities vary, and no prior experience is required. Pay starts at $11 per hour for up to 20 hours per week. Priority need is for the summer, but there are also opportunities in the fall. If you’re interested, apply online.
