Monday, September 23: Love Like Adam Foundation Hazing Prevention Presentation
7:30 - 8:45 PM | Old Cabell Hall
Adam Oakes died as a result of a hazing-related alcohol overdose at VCU in 2021. Following his death, Adam's family created the Love Like Adam Foundation to support, educate, and equip students, families, law enforcement officers, and other stakeholders with hazing prevention education. The Foundation successfully advocated for the passage of "Adam's Law," a Virginia state law that requires all Virginia institutions of higher education to provide hazing prevention training to students and organization advisors.
Adam's family will be sharing his story and speaking to the UVA Community about their work over the past three years.
