Legendary civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. not only fought for racial equality but economic and educational equity. Join us in honoring MLK Day by donating goods to the Charlottesville City of Promise. The City of Promise is committed to ending generational poverty and creating a community where all children are equipped to realize their fullest potential.
Donations can be made individually or on behalf of your CIO in the Multicultural Student Center from January 17th- February 8th. If you are donating on behalf of your CIO, please be sure to check-in with our front desk intern staff or professional staff to record your donation and have your picture taken for our social media campaign. One CIO will be selected to receive free catering at their next event, up to $500!
Thank you in advance for your donation! By donating practical items, you indirectly contribute to programs like Youth Wellness, Early Learning, Project Garden, scholarships for Charlottesville high school seniors, and more by relieving part of the budget for enrichment and empowerment programs.
