INTER-FRATERNITY COUNCIL

(IFC): JAN 19-FEB 4

ORIENTATION: JAN 19
IFC explains the recruitment process to all students who have registered.

OPEN HOUSE: JAN 20-21
Potential New Members (PNMs) will tour the IFC houses North of Beta Bridge (Jan 20) and South of Beta Bridge (Jan 21).

FIRST ROUND: JAN 23-25
IFC chapters will host approved events throughout Charlottesville.

SECOND ROUND: JAN 27-29

THIRD ROUND: FEB 1-2

FINAL HOURS: FEB 3
PNMs visit three (3) houses in order of least favorite.

BID DAY- FEB 4
PNMs decide if they want to join the organization that extended a bid to them.

INFORMATION SESSION: TBD
Prospective PNMs have the opportunity to learn more about IFC recruitment. Keep an eye out for more information regarding date/time.

INTER-SORORITY COUNCIL

(ISC): JAN 13-22

ORIENTATION: JAN 13
ISC explains the recruitment process to all students who have registered.

ROUND ROBINS: JAN 14-15
Potential New Members (PNMs) will meet with all chapters for 25 minutes.

PHILANTHROPY: JAN 17
PNMs will meet with a maximum of 11 chapters for 30 minutes each.

HOUSE TOURS: JAN 20
PNMs will meet with a maximum of 7 chapters for 45 minutes each.

PREFERENCES: JAN 21
PNMs will meet with a maximum of 2 chapters for one hour each.

BID DAY- JAN 22
PNMs will receive a bid from the chapter that extended membership to them.

INFORMATION SESSION: NOV 11
Prospective PNMs have the opportunity to learn more about the ISC recruitment process. This is not required, but highly recommended for anyone unsure or who would like more information before deciding to register.

 

THINGS TO KNOW
IFC recruitment registration opens on October 13, 2022 and will close January 17 at 11:59pm.
ISC recruitment registration opens on October 1, 2022 and will close November 27 at 11:59pm.
The goal is to have 1000 students register for each recruitment!

TERMS TO KNOW
PNMs (Potential New Members)- Term used for the students going through the recruitment process
Recruitment (Rush)- The formal process for bringing in new members for ISC/IFC.
Bid Day- The day PNMs accept offered membership from an organization, also known as "accepting a bid"
Pi Chi- An active sorority member that has chosen to disaffiliate from their chapter, to serve as a mentor to the PNMs going through sorority recruitment.

HOOS AGAINST HAZING
All current chapter members, chapter advisers, and potential new members going through recruitment must attend a Hoos Against Hazing program.
