Tragedy in South Korea

From
Robyn S. Hadley, UVA Student Affairs, and Stephen D. Mull, UVA Global Affairs

Dear Members of UVA’s South Korean Community:

The news of the terrible tragedy in Seoul this past weekend with many deaths and injuries has shaken many of us here in Charlottesville.

We are writing to express our solidarity in this difficult moment, and to invite you to get in touch with us if you are experiencing any challenges in connection with such a large-scale loss of life and injury. We stand ready to assist.

Students can schedule an initial appointment with a counselor at Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) by calling 434-243-5150 or by going to HealthyHoos. CAPS is also available on an emergency after-hours basis by calling this same number. TimelyCare – a 24/7 virtual, wraparound mental health care service – is also available to students if you should need support.

Our Faculty and Employee Assistance Program (FEAP) is also open and available to provide support to our UVA Faculty and Staff.

You can also get it touch with us through these email addresses – [email protected] and/or [email protected]

Sincerely,

Robyn S. Hadley
