Jennifer (J.J.) Wagner Davis, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer

To the University Community,

As communicated by the President and Provost, the University will observe a Day of Reflection on November 15th; classes will be cancelled.  Only designated employees and those who support daily activities will need to report to Grounds, including but not limited to employees who support UVA Dine, University Transportation Services, Libraries, IM-Rec facilities, Student Affairs, the University’s child care centers, and Emergency Management.  For further information or questions, please contact your manager or supervisor.

Students and Academic Division faculty and staff should monitor the Academic Operations Status Board for any other changes to facilities on Grounds.

All patient care services will maintain a normal operating schedule on November 15.

We encourage you to reach out if you need support services. Students may call Counseling and Psychological Services at 434-243-5150, 24 hours a day. Information about CAPS is available on the Student Health and Wellness website. Academic Division faculty, staff, and UVA Health Team members can reach the Faculty and Employee Assistance Program by calling 434-243-2643 or by emailing the office via the FEAP website.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families affected by this tragedy and with the entire University community.  We are grateful for the many employees, affiliated organizations and our law enforcement partners who worked tirelessly since last night to successfully conclude this incident.

Very truly yours,

Jennifer (J.J.) Wagner Davis
